This is a very pretty salt and pepper set marked JAPAN(white ware) and PICKARD HAND PAINTED CHINA(decorating mark)The set is hand painted and decorated with blue forget-me-notflowers and green foliage on a creamy background.The tops of the shakers are heavily gilded.On the front of each piece are theinitials of the artist, C.M.probably Curtis Marker, who worked for Pickard between1905 and 1930, well known for his premium quality work,flowers and gardens in particular.The two pieces are 3 3/4\" high and 1 5/8\" wide.The porcelain is light and translucent.The condition of the set is excellent with no visible flaw.A terrific addition to a Pickard collection.Please see my listing for more Pickard.Pay Pal only and payment in 3 days.California residents will pay 7.5% tax.
