Let me start by saying that I have seen a lot of vintage and antique jewelry over the last few decades, but I have never seen anything quite like this before. The piece is intricately engraved similar to a fine printed engraving. I believe it is either German or Austrian in origin. It depicts Titian\'s daughter Lavinia which was widely copied in the early 19th century. The bottom is titled \"TIZIAN LAVINIA\". The pendant measures approx 2 1/8\" x 1 7/8\". There are some numbers and roman numerals engraved on the back side. It comes ready to wear on a heavy Victorian era sterling silver chain. The condition is excellent with no damage and light wear consistent with age.
