DESCRIPTION:

This is a most beautiful and very rare MINIATURE solid 18k French Victorian era beautifully designed and exquisitely made lady\'s fob watch. The watch is very small, measuring only 2cms (20mm) across. This truly stunning watch is beautifully made and shouts quality. It is honed from solid 18 carat gold and has French Poincon marks. The case is in good condition and has a beautiful Guilloche enamel finish in a dark emerald green. The enamel shows one light chip and a tiny bit of wear here and there. The enamel is interspersed with a fantastic gold foliate design which caresses the enamel around the bezel and continues onto the case back with a spray of forget-me-nots. The flower heads are set with old cut diamonds (11 in all) The case seems to be designed to imitate the look of the early Verge Fusee pocket watches obviously in miniature form. The dustcover is also 18 carat gold and is in good condition.

DIAL:

This charming 18 carat gold watch has a lovely all original bright white dial. Unusually it has lovely RED Arabic numerals which are in excellent condition. There is a black painted outer minute track which is also in excellent condition. the hands seem original and are of a fancy open work filigree design and look beautiful. The crystal looks original and is made from glass. As such it shows some light micro marks across its surface. The extended solid gold crown has a tiny split but is in good all round condition, as is the gold chain ring.

MOVEMENT:

This is a lovely small gilt Swiss made jewelled nice quality movement. It has minty purpled steel screws. The movement is in good working order and has just been FULLY SERVICED by my watchmaker. It is crown wound and pin set. It winds smoothly and sets as it should.
