Original and rare WWII Japanese Type 97 Sniper Rifle Scope and Carrying Case with Straps. This late manufacture 2.5 power Tomioka Kogaku sniper scope remains in good condition including its optics and reticule which are intact and remain clear. The rubber eyecup as in most all of these scopes is a high quality replacement. The scope is serialized from the factory 31986. The scope is absolutely original and has never been repainted nor in any way ever fooled with. This scope was actually issued and used and is serialized on the mount to rifle #11148. The carrying case is original to the scope and very desirably has both intact its shoulder as well as the waist strap. The only defect on the case is the fastener strap has long ago been missing its tip. This does not affect the integrity or appearance of the case and can be easily fixed if one so wishes. I\'m sure if you are a collector you already know that Tomioka Kogaku was a very small optical factory located on the outskirts of Tokyo.
