Baby “Nod” is the adorable full vinyl anatomically correct preemie sculpt created by the very talented Donna RuBert.
His photos were taken with and without flash in various light settings, so you can get an accurate view of his skin tones. Enjoy! :o)
I have been a full time reborn artist for three years and only use the finest quality products in creating these sweet babies :o) Being a reborn baby collector myself, I only sell babies that I would be happy to add to my own collection :o)
I achieved Nod\'s lifelike appearance and unique coloring by adding many thin layers of Special Care Nursery air dry paints which are permanent and will not chip or fade with time. I like these paints, as they give baby a very natural soft look. This baby has amazing detail which includes subtle veins, and blemishes added to his body and head. Each sweet baby crease is highlighted for realism. His nails are tipped with white and sealed for a newly trimmed look. After the paint has cured, two layers of sealer are added to protect the vinyl from scratches and uv rays. His nose has been shaded for depth, and gloss was added to the eyes, lips and nose for a moisture effect.
Jake is a closed eyed baby with micro-rooted wispy light brown eyelashes.
Nod has gorgeous dark brown mohair from Slumberland Nursery which was micro-rooted with a 42 gauge needle for realism. This process takes hours, but the realistic results are certainly worth the effort. This hair is sealed from the inside, and therefore, can be gently styled using a soft baby brush, mohair conditioner, Johnson\'s No More Tangles or water.
Nod\'s full vinyl body is weighted with fine glass beads. He is fun to pose and is so adorable you will not want to put him down :o)
