Hereis a rare version of a trackwalker\'s lantern.It is embossed on the top of the handle with the following:\"Dietz\" \"Protector Trackwalker\" \"Lantern\"\"Patented Jan-26-09\" \"New York USA\". It is embossed \"PRR\" inside akeystone logo on the front of the handle.This frame measures 15.5 inches as it stands. This lantern has been painted black andsilver and it shows very well. It issolid and has no holes or rust-through. Whatmakes this lantern unusual are the two round holes on either side to allowlight to be seen from the either side.Also, there is a clear/red lens on the back of the lantern. The color can be changed from clear to red bymoving a sliding latch on the middle of the back of the lantern. To top it all off, the clear globe is etched\"PRR\" inside a keystone logo.This matches the embossed marking on the front of the lantern. I have seen only one other of this frame(also marked PRR), but it did not have a railroad marked globe. These lanterns obviously cost more to makethan the more commonly seen lanterns of this type and therefore are much harderto find. I do not know if any otherrailroads used this type of lantern, as I have never seen any from a differentroad. This is a rarity and a mostunusual lantern configuration. Buyerpays shipping.
