Up for sale is this VERY COOL AND SUPER HARD TO FINDVINTAGEALL STEEL,HARD RUBBER TIRE,SKIP TOOTH CHAIN DRIVEN KIDS ARMY OR ICE CREAM VENDOR BOX BACKPEDAL CARfrom the 1920\'s/30\'s era. It measures about 40\" long and ismissing some parts, namely the seat, rear axle, sprocket, tires, rear wheels and it looks like it would have had fenders over the wheels on the box. Notice the small piece of tube they put at the back to look like a tailpipe.We thought maybe it was an armypedalcaras that is what wewere told it was by the previous owner and notice the star graphic on theback of the box you can see inmy photo of the open top of the box. I also thought it looked a little like an ice cream venders vehicle.I have Googled this thing six ways from Sunday and have come up with NOTHING. If you know who might have made it and what it was called, please let me know. This would have been much earlier than the three wheel Good Humor Ice Cream pedal cars you see here every once in a while. The only markings I can find anywhere is on the hard rubber tire up front-Gates Rubber Co. That is it.
