This is a very rare early(1942) Wilde Tool Mfd. Pattern M1905bayonet that has a 1942 marking. Both Bayonet & scabbard have matching marks scribedon them (“T.C.F.” with “A” ) see all photo\'s. I have no idea what they mean. The Bakelite grips are brown with blackrectangle on the flanks, which are correct to the company\'s run ofbayonets. The scabbard is marked BN/1O w/steel belt hanger , the canvas cover is different from most that I\'ve seen on the internet with adipped type tip, not leather. Maybe an early version ??.The original bladelength was 16\", OAL is 20 1/2\". Most of these items were cut downduring the war, this one still has its original length! (actual 15-7/8”) marked \"WT /1942\" with the flaming ordnance bomb. The other side has marksscribed on them (“T.C.F.” with the letter “A” ) maybe the soldiers ID. ??. also matching #\'s on the scabbard. Thetop of the cross guard is marked \"WT\".The estimated production numbers were very low (60,000) as Wilde Tool only made them from 1942-43. I have seen many of the 1943\'s listed but no 42\'s
