Rare Antique 19th C Copper Encased Mining Detonator / Generator:

An original rare, antique 19th century mining detonator / generator which has copper sides and measures approximately 6 1/8\" tall (not including its leather handle) by 5 1/8\" wide. The detonator originally would of had a handle which fit over the square peg on one side in order to wind it which has been lost. The item is quite heavy at 10 1/2 pounds with copper sides while the top appears to be made of either a hard rubber or some sort of fiber type material. The handle is made of leather and appears to be original to the item. this mining detonator is completely fresh to the market from the estate of an old time collector and I believe its quite rare as I have not seen another like it previously.
