For your consideration is a beautiful and rare antique Ceramic ArtCompany BELLEEK PorcelainLidded Jarwith ALVIN Sterling Overlay, circa 1889-1906.

The Ceramic Art Company of Trenton, New Jersey, wasfounded in 1889by J. Coxon and Walter Scott Lenox and was an early producer of American Belleek porcelain. Thecompany started out as more of an Art Studio than a factory. In the beginning, insteadof a full line of ceramics, the company produced one-of-kind artistic ceramic pieces.Walter Scott Lenox took full ownership of the company in 1894 and renamed it Lenox, Inc.The company made pieces withsterling silver overlay from 1900 to 1910 and art deco figurines and dishes inthe 1920s. Shopsspecializing in high quality ceramic pottery carried Lenox products. Theseproducts were displayed in the Smithsonian Institution in 1897.

This is a gorgeous piece being a light daffodilpastel yellow color with a superbly detailed Alvin sterling silver floraloverlay and finale.

It has the Ceramic ArtCompany factory intertwined CAC/BELLEK mark which dates the piece between 1889 and 1906. It measures approx. 5.25\" tall by 3.5\" at widest.

The sterling silver is marked with the ALVIN Factory mark along with4500, 999/100 Fine.

This piece is in excellent condition, free of any chips, cracks,crazing or repairs with minimal to no wear.

Simply a wonderful& rarepiece of antique American Porcelain.
