RARE DESIGN Smaller COFFEE TABLE Vtg MID CENTURY - Karl Springer, Maitland Smith:

This piece is solid wood throughout, with a very unique wood veneer laminate. Looks to be a cross cut timber of some kind, or maybe sliced / scalloped bark which gives thisinterestinglook on top. I am not quite sure what the veneer\'s wood type is as it has quite a different look that I have not seen before. Possibly a Palm Tree of some kind? Also on the coffee table top, a thick layer of sculpted bark has been applied on the sides.
Table legs have a classy look, rolling inwards slightly, with the cross cut veneer. Possibly Asian inspired. Legs look like they may twist on and off, but they are on pretty tight, and I do not want to really yank on them to find out.

Table itself is pretty heavy for its size and measures 37\" long, 25\" wide, and 14\" tall. Total package will probably weigh around 50lbs; heavy small table!! Looking at the bottom of the table, this piece looks like it is either Mahogany, Teak, or Rosewood. Table is unmarked by a designer, but definitely has designer appeal, or was done by someone well versed in making quality artistic furniture. Coffee table has a Karl Springer or maybe Maitland Smith style / vibe to it, and was bought in an estate sale here in Seattle. Very minor wear may be found but overall in great shape!
