*****PLEASE NOTE THIS IS LOCAL PICK UP ONLY!!!! IT IS TOO FRAGILE TO SHIP*****I WILL TRAVEL UP TO 50 MILES ONE WAY TO MEET BUYER FOR AN EXTRA $20****Very rare, XL Early Woodland period pottery vessel measuring 11\" high, by 12\" across, and is Point Peninsula Cord marked. It is conoidal in shape, grit tempered, and cord marked on exterior. Circa 1200 BC- 50 AD.This pot is part of a 5 vessel group all recovered and restored by Henry Graham in the 1920s on the Castle Creek site, Binghamton, Broome county NY.
This is restored in the \"old school\" style that was typical of the early 1900s, when collectors/amateur Archeologists used shards from more than one vessel, to make a complete vessel. However, about 50% of this vessel IS from the same pot (upper portion).
Displays wonderfully with any early Algonquin, Owasco, or Iroquois NY or PA display. Super hard to find in any state or condition. Last photo is of all 5 large vessels together. This is the nicest, and most original of the 5. The other 4 vessels are NOT included in this sale. Any questions, or need more pics, please ask.
