Welcome!

Offered... a very exciting find of an early Zuni mosaic inlay ring in geometric forms dating it to Art Deco period, probably the 1940s. The all natural stones and shells consist of red abalone, Blue Gem mine turquoise, clam shell and jet, set into At least coin silver at .900 or sterling silver at .925. There are three hand made hand applied raindrops along each side of the face and the shank is split into three just before the face for stability. This is a wonderful ring that has a nice thick shank and isn\'t signed by the artist or for silver content, which is usual for that time, but there are some engraved marks on the back consisting of a form that I don\'t recognize and the initials NY. These are probably marks by the trader or former owner. Ring size is 8.75, face size is 1.125\" x 3/4\" and the weight is 8.4grams. The piece is completely captivating and I would hate to part with it. It has a solid look and feel and is aesthetically riveting from all angles, like a great sculpture. There is a shallow slight hairline running from the red abalone into the turquoise and a small chip in the jet, but neither issue is serious or endangers the integrity of the piece and they are both hard to detect with the naked eye. These aside, the overall condition is excellent vintage, wearable and collectible. This is an important collector\'s piece, museum worthy in my view.
