Up for sale is a rare, one of a kind, Sankyo Musical Jewelry Box in very good condition that has never been offered in history. This box was never mass produced and is likely a single sample that was displayed at trade shows. It is dated to the late 1960\'s. It plays the song \"Invitation to a Dance\" using 4 bells and a 23 note cylinder movement. In research of this item, I contacted various music box restorers and dealers in the U.S. to find out that none have ever seen this particular box in person or in any Sankyo literature. I also have corresponance from the current general manager of Sankyo Music Company, Katsuhiro Yamazaki, who stated that indeed, it is a one of a kind box that he called a \"sample\". The company only has one copy of the 23 note movement and that is all. He could not even find the original engineering drawings of this box. I can send a copy of the email and a audio recording of the tune played to any serious buyer.The box measures 17\" high, 15\" wide and 7\" deep. It has 2 pulldown ring drawers on either side of the glass enclosed movement and 11 drawers below. The right ring drawer seems to be looser than the left. All drawers are lined with red velvet. It has been stored for nearly 40 yrs and looks like new. The only noticable blemish to the wood I could find is a slight scuff mark at the left of the bottom middle drawer.
