This is a Civil War or Pre-Civil War short artillery sword with scabbard. The sword measures 25.25\" long from blade tip to handle end and the blade is 19.25\" long and 1.75\" at widest point. The handle has the initials \" TW \" and two shielded eagles grasping arrows. The scabbard belt clip is solid brass with a bold \" US \" on it. The leather is in good condition with a flopping dented brass tip that firms up when sword is in. The Sword is in excellent condition. This could be an Ames artillery sword with no writing on the blade.
