This is a very rare find, an original vintage Singer Featherweight maple oval sewing machine cabinet/table! These are extremely difficult to find making this one truly a rare item. This is only the 2nd one I have owned in my 20+ years of collecting sewing machines! This special cabinet was made solely for the Singer \"Featherweight\" models 221 & 222 sewing machines ONLY as it doesn\'t fit other models. While the Featherweight card tables are rather plentiful, this cabinet is not and is rarely seen. This maple hardwood table is very unique in its design as well. The oval top removes so that this cabinet can be used as an incognito occasionaltable when not being used for sewing. With the top on, the table measures about 32\"x22\"x30.5\" tall. The oval top removes to expose the cut-out to set the Featherweight sewing machine onto the metal brackets to give a larger flat sewing surface, and when finished sewing, the machine can be neatly tucked into the cabinet behind the double doors. When being used for sewing, there is a knee plate that pushes up to allow for more leg room. There is a metal spool rack plus a little hidden \"drawer\" (not really a drawer but a recessed box as it doesn\'t slide out but is used for storage from above) for tools & sewing supplies. This cabinet would be considered a \"fixer-upper\" and not in the best condition. I have tried to show this in the photos, and I will try to explain its condition as best as I can. While this cabinet is solid and quite usable as it is, if you want a pristine example, this one will need some work or restoration to the veneer especially. The worst flaw is probably the fact that the very end of the wood on the sewing surface oval end was broken-off and has been reglued into place, but the piece doesn\'t perfectly fit flat, mainly on the underside (I have shown this in the pics). It seems the piece had slightly warped after breaking-off to give it some \"curve\" that kept it from perfectly matching the broken end when re-glued. This isn\'t seen with the oval top on since it is on the table beneath it. The other flaws in this cabinet are mainly to the veneer. I do not have the equipment, materials, or skill to replace veneer, and while my plans were to just glue and clamp the broken or loose veneer, I decided that perhaps someone else might want to truly restore it correctly by replacing broken veneer. The oval top has lifting mainly on one side, and I was afraid to clamp and glue it myself since it has some rippling to it, and I didn\'t want it to snap. There is veneer breakage and loss, especially on the \"feet\" at the base and a few more small spots on the cabinet. Also, the screws that hold the sewing surface to the cabinet base are missing, but it just requires 4 wood screws to reattach it. The doors and hinges are good. I have not attempted any repair other than regluing the end piece onto the sewing surface end as stated. This is otherwise in as-found condition and has been stored in dry, dark, smoke-free/pet-free storage for a while. I hope someone will love and appreciate this cabinet and put it to use, perhaps restoring its original beauty! I would prefer local pick-up on this item, but, I am willing to try to ship it. I am located in Northeast Arkansas about 75 miles northwest of Memphis, TN, and just 8 miles from the Missouri boothill. I can deliver for a small fee to the Little Rock, AR, Memphis, TN, or Mountain Home, AR, areas. I may consider other locations at a cost of .50/mile both ways or possibly less if I can work something into another trip. I am going to have to figure some shipping costs before I can list shipping as an option, but I am willing to ship this item. I do not know the package size yet as I have to determine what can be taken apart for easier shipping and thus, package size/weight. I will update the listing with shipping information as soon as I know this information. If the shipping costs do not show on your invoice at the sale\'s end, I will manually send an invoice reflecting shipping costs to your zip code, so please be aware free shipping is not included, but local pick-up does mean no additional costs besides your actual offer. Thanks for looking, and definitely ask any questions!
