We have a German Military stein that was made about 70 years ago for a soldier in the war in Germany. The stein is a 1/2L that is 6 1/2” tall. The stein has a hand painted scene of a airplane with FLIEGER – ÜBUNGSSTELLE NÜRNBERG WEIHNACHTEN dated 1936. The lid is made from pewter. We have placed stickers covering symbols on the lid and body. There is a chip repaired on the base edge that looks pretty good. There are some scratches on part of the word ÜBUNGSSTELLE. I think that this is a very unusual stein.
