For sale is a S&J KITCHIN Ltd Machete or Large Butcher style Cleaver, made by Sheffield (England)!Date stamped 1952 on blade. Sheath stamped 1944.Full, tapered tang, carbon steel blade, five rivet style with wood handles.The machete exhibits some typical indications of use and age.Blade has some marks and scratches from previous sharpening, use and storage. Some peppering and typical blade colorations for a carbon steel blade of this age. Very nice patina. Blade edge in nice condition, no chips, cracks. Blade is sharp, straight, and tip is good.Blade measures approx 14-3/4\" L and 3/16\" thick at top of spine near handle.Overall machete length approx 20\". Weight approx 1.5 Lbs.Handles and rivetsare tight, with some typical age and use indications, no burn marks.Overall, a very nice, vintage machete.The leather sheath shows wear and age indications. The leather is dry, needs conditioned.
