SCARCE Early Style Stanley BEDROCK No. 605 1/2 -- FINE!

One of the hardest to find BEDROCKS out there and in FINE CONDITION. Late \"Type 3\" (ca.1908) with \"T\" trade marked iron. Lightly cleaned to high collector / user standards. This beautiful plane is not damaged in any way save for where \"C J Rush\" stamped his name about midway on the right sideboard. There is no rusting or significant pitting, chipping or dinging anywhere in the body of the plane. Plenty of usable steel (almost 1-5/8\") remains on the iron. The throat is good and has not been enlarged. The strikingly beautiful Rosewood handle and knob are fine with little \"toolbox\" dinging. There is a tight seasoning crack in the tote that you can see in the second photo. It goes less than half way through and looks to have been there for a long time. Japanning rates no more than about 70% coverage but the underlying metal is so darkly patinated you hardly notice. Please look carefully at the photos. The polished metal areas likewise have a nice uniform dark patina. The iron could use a sharpening. A good example of one of the more difficult to find Bedrocks. FINE (noting the japanning) and SCARCE, it is ready for the workbench or the collection - as you like. But watch out for those rascally snipers!
