I must say, this lady really has an amazing sense of style!
From the blog:
Weiss herself has led a similarly mutable existence. Raised in Boise, Idaho, she made her way in the late ’60s to New York, where she quickly became a habitué of Max’s Kansas City and friends with WARHOLsuperstar Ultra Violet. She traveled equally well in the city’s uptown circles and, in 1970, took the position of accessories buyer for Henri Bendel—a job she held for the next 16 years. In 1972, while attending a backer’s audition at Sardi’s, she met her future husband, the noted songwriter and lyricist George Weiss. Asked what attracted her to George, who helped write and arrange some of the top hits of the ’60s (“The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” and “What a Wonderful World” are among his many credits), and who died in 2010, Claire replies warmly, “Recognizing true talent is my only talent.”
