Maxfield Parrish collector\'s will recognize this as one of the most difficult of his illustrated books to acquire:

Maxfield Parrish cover illustration (\"paste-on\") and matching full-page frontispiece.
I don\'t believe the illustration appears anywhere else.

CONDITION per above: Very good vintage condition: a book for with the adage \"Condition Relative to Scarcity\" definitely applies. Nice color for cover cloth as well as paste-on. Paste-on has overall moderate soiling and some light scratching. Gilt is excellent. Spine top & bottom AND very tips of outside corners with wear (see photos - this is not extreme.) Very small hole on top edge near top of spine. Pages with predicted age toning BUT NO FOXING. Neat, small original owner signature FEP, (Harold Gamble). End papers are NOT split but first signature is 2/3 loose (original thin string present). Seems restorable by a professional (and worth it in terms of collectibility). Some soiling on pages 30-31, pages 16-17 and BEP. Tiny, erasable original owner notation on page 10. Quite presentable copy worthy of a collection in my oppinion - but you decide. Consult photos. They are the best indicator of what\'s being offered and are considered part of the description.
