SCHOENHUT MISS DOLLY. Such a sweet, winsome face! I really, really wanted to keep this doll, but I also really, really need money, so... here we are.
She\'s 20\" tall, and in very good condition for her age. All joints work, though some are a bit creaky, but everything bends and she holds a pose extremely well. I don\'t think her body has been repainted at all. She has that sort of yellowish sheen that many original Schoenhuts have. There are a few scuffs and nicks here and there, but no real issues.
Her wig looks like a vintage replacement, but it\'s made of human hair and is perfect for her.
She has a nail hole in her upper forehead (they used to nail the wigs on. Ouch!) and a small dark spot under her bangs. I didn\'t notice these until I was taking the photos. I can send you a pic if you want one.
Her face has a few areas where you can see a subtle crackling. If you enlarge the photos of the sides of her face, you can see it. I didn\'t even notice it until I took the photos. My eyesights not that great, though.
I can\'t guarantee that no one has ever
touched up her face, but she definitely has
never had a real repaint.
Her dress is not original, but it is vintage, and it looks so nice on her. It buttons up the back, and the fabric is crisp and mostly clean. Alas, no petticoats or undies, but hopefully you can help her out with that.
Her shoes are modern replacements, and I\'m not sure that they exactly match, so maybe her new owner can take her shoe shopping as well.
Please look carefully at the photos. It\'s amazing how much detail these new cameras catch!
