Seth thomas Clock Co., Thomaston CT circa 1943 U.S. Maritime Commission Ship\'s Clock with a recently silvered original eight inch 12 hour brass dial, black reflector ring, original black spade hands, a full sweep black Seth Thomas seconds hand, and black Arabic numerals. It is fitted in an original black phenolic case with a swing open bezel. Has an 11-jewel lever escapement, an 8 day time-only movement, and a micrometer type S/F regulator. Below the center arbor, in three lines of upper case black letters are the words \"U.S. MARITIME COMMISSION - 17902.\"Below the lower chapter ring, also in upper case black lettering are the words\"MADE BY SETH THOMAS IN U.S.A\". All maritime/military clocks of the WWI and WWII eras were built to the exacting specifications of the U.S. Naval Observatory. and is in near mint exact operating condition. Comes with a winding key.
