Shadow was the most prolific American team in Formula One history. From 1973 to 1980, Don Nichols Shadow Racing Team competed in 109 Formula One races - more than the three other teams led by Americans Roger Penske, Parnelli Jones and Ted Field combined. Shadow won the 1977 Austrian Formula One Grand Prix, the 1975 Brands Hatch Race of Champions, in addition to winning the Can-Am series in 1974 and a Formula 5000 race in 1976.
The Shadow MVS (Military Vehicle Systems) was built by the legendary Shadow Racing Team in England. It was a dream of the founder of Shadow Racing, Don Nichols, to produce these vehicles for the military because of his service in the 101st Airborne in WWII. He had a keen interest in military vehicles. With an investment exceeding 500,000 It went through extensive testing with the military but never went in to full production. This vehicle is the one and only 6 wheel drive Shadow MVS produced. This is a rare opportunity to own a part of Shadow Racing\'s history.The vehicle is 6 wheel drive, powered by a Volkswagen diesel.
