Here is an antique Carl Fisher 19th century cornet:
1. Nickel silver over brass2. Beautifully engraved flower and leaf pattern and \"Carl Fischer, New York\"** on the bell and on upward (photo 5)3. Mother-of-pearl buttons on the valves (photo 7)4.The A and Bb (B flat) pitch valves (photo 1)5. Besson 628 on the adjustment dial (photo 8).
This fine instrument comes with its original case dated July 1883, purple velvet lining with several compartments. Size: 13\" between longest points; 4 5/8\" diameter of bellCondition: as found:valves move but are sticky; lower adjustment piece missing from 1st valve (photos 9,10); a few small pea dents; no mouthpiece; case shows wear, handle, lock, and clasps are well attached; no mouthpiece **Carl Fischer (1849-1923) started as a dealer in New York in 1872, after immigrating from Germany, supplying sheet music and imported instruments from Europe. They opened a division, Carl Fischer Musical Instrument Co. which then bought out York Band Instrument Co. in 1940.
