Southern Pacific C-10 2-8-0 Sunset Brass HO Unpainted. Sunset imported this fully detailed can motorpowered model from Korea. A well craftedPrestige Series Espee Whyte Class Oil Fired Consolidation that features a welldetailed backhead, the scarcer Whaleback style tender and can motor. The C-10 engines were numerous on the SP an576would bed first introduced during 1911 with some serving until 1956 (scrappedby 1958). Some were delivered fromBaldwin while others were built in house at the Los Angeles shops. These consolidations spent most of theirlives hauling freight consists. Thelocomotive rested on 57 inch drivers that were coupled to 22 inch bore by 30inch stroke cylinders through simple Stephenson Slide Valve gearing. The locomotives weighed 208,000 lbs of which187,000 were on the drivers. The locoswere originally powered with 200 pounds with a resultant tractive effort of43,300 lbs. With later modernizationefforts with super heaters added, pressure was increased to 210 PSI, weightincreased to 217,800 lbs and the tractive effort increased to 45,470 lbs - not badfor a little Consolidation. The canmotor powered model comes in a original box with full foam and runs well on thetest track. The model appears to have been a display item – tender couplerinstalled - appears only to have been test run. Please allow $14 for insureddomestic shipping and handling.
