Here isnice useableexample of aStanley Bedrock number605CType7corrugated bottom jack plane. It was madebetween1923 and 1926.The original japanning is about85 percent on the body and85 percent on the frog. It has beenlightly cleaned. The body is in good worker shape with no damage or rust, but the left side has some extremely fine pitting and some on the very front and rear of the right side and at the toe of the sole. It is extremely light and you can barely even feel it. Nothing major and could be removed and polished out, but I will leave that to the discretion of the new owner. It will not affect its\' use.There are no owners marks. The mouth isgood with no cracks. The corrugations are good. The rosewood knob and tote are very nice with no damage or repairs,but have some dings. They don\'t appear to have any finish. Strange, but true.The original cutter has a littleethching on the face near the hole, is mostly clean, but the edge will need a good clean up and sharpening. It has a little over2 1/16 inches left to the slot. It has the Stanley,last Sweetheart logo. The chip breaker is pretty clean,but will require a bit of tuning.The brass adjuster nut is good with good knurling. Lateral lever isvery tight and straight and has Stanley stamped into it. Lever cap has a perfect edge and no damage. This planelooksgood for being over85 years old!This would also make a great user plane.This is a very well made version of the favorite Bedrock series of planes, that sawlittle use. The cutter has plenty of life left, hasgood wood, and is solid. Sharpen the cutter and put this one back to work or add it to your plane collection, either way I think you would like this one.
