A later type Stanley No 70 Box Scraper.According to John Walters\' \"Stanley Tools\" the traces of red lacquer on the hardwood handle and turned rings indicate this example to be c 1950. No 70 and STANLEY appear in raised letters on the cap iron. Much of the original black japanning remains.
The blade carries the Stanley notched rectangular logo and is in excellent condition with little or no pitting evident. The blade bevel has been re-set using a slow speed water cooled wheel... a final honing is all that would be needed.Offered at sale with the lowest allowable starting offer and absolutely no hidden reserve whatever.
