You are offerding on one Stanley Bedrock or Bed Rock Number 605 wood bench plane as pictured.

It has some condition issues, so please keep reading.

It is marked \"BED ROCK\" on the front end, \"PAT\'D APR 2-95 APR .19.10\" behind the frog, \"No 605\" on the back end, \"STANLEY\" on the lateral lever, \"2006\" on the reverse side of the iron (3 times, once stamped and twice engraved), and the front side of the iron has the STANLEY notched rectangle logo with \"MADE IN ENGLAND\" below that.

The iron is obviously a much newer replacement. Proper size, but a replacement. And the rear handle is undoubtedly also a replacement, as it is not rosewood.

The sole has been resurfaced by the previous owner, with quite a few fine scratches showing. And the hole for the front knob extends through the sole of the plane, and is visible in the 4th picture.

Condition is otherwise good to very good. The sides have a lot of dings (???) but no pitting.The rear handle is unbroken, but has a few chips around the upper edge, and is a replacement as noted. The front knob appears to be original, and has some minor scratches in the wood. The iron is very clean, and the previous owner did some flattening of the back side of the iron. The chipbreaker has some patina but no pitting. Except as noted, there are no cracks or chips or chunks missing from any of the castings, and everything operates properly. It would benefit from a cleaning. Despite the issues, it will be a very good user.

RETURN POLICY: I believe that if you give honest descriptions, and include enough pictures, you shouldn\'t need a return policy. However, that doesn\'t mean that I won\'t make an occasional mistake. SHIPPING INSIDE THE US: I would rather that you spend your money on my stuff, and not on shipping. So I try to pick the best shipping option for each listing, based on what is the least expensive, and what is needed to protect the item. I package well, and have a great track record of getting everything to each buyer, and getting it there in one piece. I use the US Post Office for everything, and I often find it is cheaper to use their Priority Mail flat rate boxes for heavier items.The US Post Office has five sizes of their Flat Rate boxes, plus padded Flat Rate envelopes. For each size the postage stays the same regardless of weight, with a 70 pound limit within the US and a 20 pound limitfor international shipments. If the item is over $100, I have to buy extra insurance, and if the item is over $250, encourages all sellers to require a signature upon delivery, which costs extra. The shipping charges are a combination of postage, extra insurance if applicable, and signature confirmation if applicable.

WASHINGTON STATE buyers: I hate to do this, but if I ship to a Washington address, no matter where you actually live, I either have to charge Washington State sales tax,or receive a valid resale form.

sales: I won’t end an sale listing early to sell it to you directly. As a buyer, I really dislike going back at the end of an sale to offer, only to discover that the seller had ended the sale early. So I won’t do that for you, or to you.

PURCHASING MULTIPLE ITEMS: Wherever it makes sense, I will combine your purchases to save on shipping. But you have to WAIT for me to put together your invoice, as the computer cannot do that automatically.

USPS POSTAGE RATE INCREASE AS OF January. Every year the US Postal Service raises rates in mid to late January, and this year is no exception.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: I no longer ship Internationally, other than occasionally to Canada. I have told the computer NO International shipping, but if you are in Canada, email me for a postage quote first, and if that works, I can change the listing to allow shipments to Canada only.

MY POLICY ON CUSTOMS DECLARATIONS FOR INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS: Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility. Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to offerding or buying. And I will not reduce the value, declare your purchase to be a gift, or in any way be dishonest on the customs declaration. If I were willing to be dishonest on the customs declaration, shouldn’t you be worried that I might be willing to be dishonest somewhere else?

PACKAGING: Please check my response -- I package well. I figure if you take the time to purchase from me, then I can take the time to package it well, and not just throw it into a cereal box with a scrap of newspaper.
