This is a uniqueand distinctive set of four (4) STARTREK 2016 First Day of Issue, First Day Covers honoring the iconic andpopular science fiction television series, the stamps issuance correspondingwith the program’s “50th Anniversary”.

The CAPTAINKIRK cover features the STARTREK Forever® stamp depicting the Starship Enterprise inside the outlineof a Starfleet insignia against agold background. The cachet is an image of CaptainJames Tiberius Kirk against a lavenderbackground (Note:Backgroundappearsbluein scan).

The MR. SPOCK cover features the STAR TREK Forever® stamp depicting the Enterpriseinside the outline of the Vulcan salute(Spock’s iconic hand gesture) against a blue background. The cachet is an imageof Science Officer and First Officer Mr.Spock against an orange background.

The TRANSPORTER ROOM cover features the STAR TREK Forever® stamp depicting the silhouetteof a crewman in a transporter against a red background,placed on the cachet image of a transporterroom.

The STARSHIP ENTERPRISE cover featuresthe STAR TREK Forever® stamp depicting the silhouette of the Enterprisefrom above against a green background, placed on the cachet image of the StarshipUSS Enterprise NCC-1701 in space passing close to a planet.

The blackpictorial postmark on each FDC features the outline of the Starfleetinsignia and abstract, digitalelements reminiscent of the science-fiction genre. Included are the stamp title (STAR TREK), the date (September 2, 2016) and location (New York, NY 10199).*

These FDCs are standard #6-3/4 envelopes (3-5/8”x 6-1/2”). The four cachets are full-cover,or “all-over”, designs.
