German Army History:the army\'s title was Reichsheer (Empire Defence). From 1935 to 1945 the title was Heer (Army), part of the Wehrmacht.

When Germany invaded Poland in 1939, Western journalists adopted the term Blitzkrieg to describe this form of armored warfare.

\"Blitzkrieg\" operations worked in the German invasions of Western Europe and initial operations in the Soviet Union. These operations were dependent on surprise penetrations (e.g. the penetration of the Ardennes forest region), general enemy unpreparedness and an inability to react swiftly enough to the attacker\'s offensive operations.

Starlux of France originally produced composition figures. After the war they began to issue injection molded plastic figures in 20mm, 40mm, and 60mm scales. The time periods issured covered Gauls, Modern Soldiers, Space figures, Prehistoric Times and Pirates. The Starlux legacy can be traced back to Elie Tarroux, who created a small toy factory in 1900. She created, molded, and decorated soldiers made from a mixture of adhesive and precipitated chalk. For 38 years Pierre Beffara work with Tarroux. In 1945, Beffara created Starlux. He gave up the chalk for plastics and developed an injection process for his figures. Starlux began operating in Périgueux in 1947.
