The lack of a true US Army issue fighting knife in the 1960s led many cutlery companies to produce their own versions for sale to servicemen. The famous Buck Knives offered a rugged 6\" blade fighting knife known as the 119 \"Special\" to soldiers at base PXs or via mail order. This US Army Vietnam TWO LINER BUCK 119 \"SPECIAL\" PX FIGHTING KNIFE is in good condition, with some sharpening and scattered nicking to the blade edge, some scattered brownish spot patina at each side of the blade, some scratching to the blade, handle, and pommel, some darkening to the guard and pommel, and with some overall age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the knife is in fine shape, with no other damage. Most interestingly, it features a 5 7/8\" clip point bowie blade, sports the classic black phenolic resin handle, and dates to ca. 1967-1972 by the two line \"BUCK / U.S.A.\" inverted maker\'s stamp at the reverse ricasso. It boasts a metal guard and pommel, and is a fine example of a rare, originalUS Army Vietnam TWO LINER BUCK 119 \"SPECIAL\" PX FIGHTING KNIFE. No scabbard included.
