Incredible unmolested condition… some post war paint to remove, but the small spots I have worked on came off easily.
Some rust at base of fuel tank well and a couple spots in the hat channel bracing underneath.Unit markings are:
“2” with Army Air Force propeller and wings roundel (2nd Air Force)
“WE-ADM” (Wendover Army Air Base, Administration)
“451” (451st Bomb Group)The 451st trained to fly their B24 Liberators in Wendover, UT from July to September 1943 before deployment to Italy. The military sold the jeep as surplus in the 1950’s. The new owner used it on an orchard south of Salt Lake City, UT. This first civilian owner keep it in a barn, where it was found by the second owner in 1991, after sitting non-operational for over two decades. I purchased it from the 2nd owner who had kept it in a covered car port over the intervening years as a “someday” project that he just never got to.Recent events have cut into my discretionary time/funds and I don’t want to see it set another 20 years… so here it is.I can direct interested parties to on line WWII jeep forum discussions on the markings. I have also interviewed survivors from the 451st who were present during the early training period in Wendover. They confirmed the use of several jeeps and other ground support vehicles by the unit and the markings. I can provide names and contact information to the new owner. I’m happy to answer any additional questions or send additional photos. Jeep is located in Centerville, UT and I can show it to you if you’re in the area.Buyer is responsible for transport. It’s not running, so please let your transport company know this and make arrangements accordingly. Deposit of 10% required within 48 hours of sale close.
Full payment is required within 7 days of sale close… Postal money order, cashier’s check, wire transfer or cash payment accepted.Thank you for looking and offerding.Chris

Note: Jeep is missing the starter. It was gone when I purchased it. I borrowed one from my restored \'45 MB to do a compression check, but that unit has since been returned to the \'45. (Compression on this engine is low on #1 and #2 and marginal on #3 and #4.)
