VINTAGE BRUNETTE 1950s CISSY DOLL BY MADAME ALEXANDER:
$455.00

sale is for a nude 20-inch Madame Alexander Cissy doll from the late 50s. She is all hard plastic with the exception of her arms, which are vinyl and jointed at the elbow for posing. Her other joints are at the head, shoulders, hips, and knees. She is marked \"Alexander\" on the back of her head. I have owned this doll for about 7 years now. Five to six years ago, she was sent to the Alexander Doll Hospital for various services. She was restrung, and she received a fresh hairdo. I\'m not sure if the spanner bar in her hair is the original one or if the doll hospital replaced it. Too much time has gone by. It also came to my attention recently that rather than repairing a split at the top of her right leg that they replaced the top portion with a modern Cissy leg. The color is okay, but you can feel the \"grainier\" texture of the modern Cissy legs. But, alas, their replacement part has developed a crack (of all things), and I don\'t think I ever even bent her legs until I was taking photos for the sale. There are no other cracks or splits in her plastic or vinyl. Cissy had and still has all of her original lashes, and I would not let them change the color of her face, although she does have tanning/browning present to some degree. Maybe I should have allowedthat, in retrospect. She does have pretty blush on her cheeks with just a slight rub on the left cheek, according to the camera. Just above the end of her left eyebrow, the camera will also show three tiny light spots that are nicks to the hard plastic. The largest one you can feel. I would not have known the other two were there, but the camera picked it up. Something else the camera discovered that I had not noticed is that there is a small interruption toward the end of her right eyebrow. Her pretty eyes are a combination of blue and green with some gold. Lip paint is fine. She has earring posts in her ears, but I never added earrings. The post on the left side is a little looser than the right one, but it does not come out Her wig has just a slight amount of lifting over the left ear. Guess the doll hospitaloverlooked attending to that when the hair was done. Because she has been through two major moves since I\'ve had her and she has modeled some hats for me in the past, fly-aways have developed on the top of her wig and a few on the sides where the hair is pulled back and up. A hairnet and hairpins hold the curls securely at the nape of her neck. There is no blush remaining on her hands or knees that I can see, but her body coloring seems even enough.Despite her flaws, she is a pretty Cissy, and I\'m hoping to find a good home for her. She has no odors and comes from a smoke-free home. I have attempted to show you all of her described flaws in the pictures. Questions always welcome. USA buyers ONLY. Thanks for considering her.
