Vintage Colliers Explosives Shot Firing Key from Nine Point Colliery South Wales which closed in1964. These keys were only held by the authorised person on the shift to carry out the firing of the explosives underground. The key would open the Locked Explosives cannister lid and also help in locating the explosive into its pre drilled hole. This key dates to c1910 and they are now becoming quite rare to find. The handlemeasures 10cms long closed x 6.5cms to the key. Genuine interesting Antique Mining Tool to display in any collection or in a Key collection.
