this very fine \"panel\" powder flask by the renowned makers Hawksley from Sheffield.
Riling`s 1953 Powder Flask book shows this flask as figure 556 in the \"panel\" chapter.
The front face of this flask has a pleasant scene of 2 seated hunters with their dogs in a landscape.
The back side of the body has a very nice collection of different styles: geometric, foliage, shell and beads.
The embossing quality and detail is stunning!
The top has been marked by the makers: G. & JW HAWKSLEY - SHEFFIELD.
Nozzle has a 3-step graduated but unmarked scale.
Statistics: overall length included nozzle = 215 mm (8.5 Inches) - the maximum width is 85 mm (3.3 Inches).
Condition: VERY GOOD! Sharp embossing - seams are perfect - some very minor dents.
Top unscrews, charger is complete but needs a spring.
Look at the stunning patina on this flask!
