Very nice and complete functioning German WWII Rabbit EarsTelescope (Binoculars) with original German tri-pod. It was referred to inGerman as a Scherenfernrohr. The set is quite heavy with the binoculars madeout of steel, brass, bakelite and glass. The tri-pod is made out of aluminum,steel, wood for the legs and the binocular mount is constructed of brass andsteel. The binoculars have 15\" observation tubes with good glass. Thebinocular base houses the bakelite eyepieces, both of which have non-detractingedge chips, a bubble leveler and a angle measuring device to establish angledistance between the two binocular tubes. This allowed for expanded fields ofobservation. The set retains much of its\' original paint scheme. On the base isthe maker and serial number of the set, on the left binocular base is bmj481053 M. On the right is S.F. 14. Z. Gi then H / 6400 underneath. With the setcomes two tubes, one each to be mounted on the end of the lens area. Thesereduced the effects of sunlight and inclement weather (rain, sleet) on thelenses. Both are in good condition but are hard to mount due to some dentingexperienced on the lenses external housing. The tri-pod is in excellentcondition and is hall marked HILDEBRAND WIOFMANN - WERKE FREIBERG - 9A with theserial number 108061. The legs are telescoped designed allowing them to extendfrom 32\" to 54\". The legs have adjustable pointed aluminum feet tosecure the tri-pod to the area it is being used in. The top mounting block thatseats the binocular set is made of brass and is also equipped with a levelerdevice. This has the serial number 1289. This is a very nice set.

Also included is theoriginal wooden back pack carrying case for the rabbit ears and sun shade eyepiece tubes. The case’s top has stenciled MG and then BINO 10 X 50.
