WE BUY USED GEAR!!Available for sale is this vintage circa 1917 Gibson \"A\" mandolin. (S/N 34756). The is a beautiful instrument that is ready to play and restored! It includes the original case as well.This model \"A\" mandolin features a spruce top that has worn in a unique way, almost in a \"crocodile skin\" style. It has a single ring around the soundhole, a raised pickguard, inlaid \"The Gibson\" tailpiece, and an ebony bridge. The back and sides are arched, stained birch.The neck is mahogany and the original open gear tuners are in amazing condition, although the buttons have yellowed a bit. The frets have just been leveled and there are no issues there. The headstock is missing the logo.This mando has been restored, a section of the back was reglued, the bridge was moved slightly, and the frets were leveled and the instrument set up. The neck is straight and the instrument plays very well with low action. It has a loud and bright sound that is sure to please any professional!
This mandolin is in VERY GOOD condition for its age. Never any cracks, neck, or fret issues. It has some finish checking on the back and top, and couple scratches near the pickguard side mount, and some other general signs of light playwear. Overall it is very clean!It has been play tested and is guaranteed to be 100% ready to play!Original case included!
