Vintage 1980 Gretsch 16\"x16\" Floor Tom Drum Natural Maple - Excellent, Original!
For your viewing pleasure is this wonderful 9x13 Gretsch natural maple tom. This drum was built with the saught after 6 ply Japser shell. This drum is as it came from the factory, the interior was never painted with the silver interior paint (Yes, although not common, there were drums in the 70s that left the factory with natural interiors). The Stop Sign Badge, and 2nd version orange and white paper tag with serial # 58XXX dates this drum to 1975-77 (most likely 1976). At some point, the previous owner removed the tone control mufflers. Other than that, his drum is completely original with the exception of replacement heads. All head brands fit nicely on this drum, including Remo. The bearing edges are true and original. The gorgeous natural maple finish is in great condition with some light attractive checking that can only be earned through time honored aging. There are no chips or scratches to the lacquer. This drum was well cared for. The original die cast hoops, lugs, and mounting bracket all have great chrome. There are no extra holes or modifications of any kind. Most importantly, this drum tunes up wonderfully and sounds amazing - perfect for the studio or stage. Enjoy!
