LOVE, LOVE ME DO.... Remember BEATLEMANIA in the 1960\'s? Every body wanted an electric guitar. Sears, Wards, Harmony, Kay... nobody could keep up with the demand forgood entry levelguitars. The Japanese entered the market in a big way and sold thousands of basses like this.A true part of guitar history.
This is a1970\'s \'Hoffner\'branded VIOLINshaped, hollow body, arched top,Electric Bass Guitar. Made in Japan, MIJ. From the pickups and other feature I would guess this is a Matsumoku made guitar.All original and complete, except for the replacedpickguard and possibly the knobs. It is inexceptionalconditionfor its age.
Features include: Chrome hardware,coveredtuners, ~30 inch scale, 22 fret neck, bound rosewood finger board w/ pearlydot markers,two pickups, three switches,two controls,two plywhitepick guard,rosewood bridge, Tobacco sunburst body finish.The neck is straight, I am assuming thetruss rod works as it should. All the electronics work. I can\'t tellyou what all the controls do, but they all do something. There are light normalbumps,marks, dings, scratches, and scuffson the body and neck.The hardware has light wear. No extra routs, no extra holes, no mystery wiring or other funny business. Itcould obviously use some new strings but the setup is quite nice.It actually PLAYS GREAT!I have serviced the guitar... cleaned and polished the body and neck, cleaned the controls, cleaned the frets, wiped off the fingerboard,adjusted the bridge and intonation, etc. This is obviously a copy of the guitar that Paul McCartney of the Beatles made famous. She loves you Yeah, Yeah, Yeah...
