For your consideration, this is a rare, vintage and antique Hale gravity fire extinguisher. This beauty is over 100 years old and I have removed all of the crud and tarnish from the brass and copper. After removing over 100 years of usage as a fire fighting tool, I then restored the original red enamel paint to the primary embossed brass plate. I have included 12 different pictures of this piece of Americana and fire fighting history so that everyone can see the true condition of this antique. This beauty is over 100 years old and is a tool to fighting fires so while I have refurbished this fire extinguisher it does have minor scratches and blemishes. It is not mint but as the pictures show, it is in very good condition. It will be the center piece to any collection or will be a great show piece.
As for the specific areas of the fire extinguisher, the bronze cap is cleaned and polished to a high bugg. The fire hose is also in great condition with the brass caps and screw being restore to a mirror finish as well. All of the rivets along back are also in great condition. Finally, the copper and brass bodies are in great condition with the red enamel paint being restored carefully so that is appears as it did when it was first created.
This fire extinguisher is unique to Kansas City, Missouri. While many fire extinguishers were heavily reproduced, HALE extinguishers were not. This is a rare one. As the bottom of the brass embossed plate reads, it was produced for \"George C. Hale.\" at \"119-121 West 14th Street, Kansas City, MO.\" Many extinguishers will show the three cities it was produced for, but this one not only states that specific city, it has its location history down to the address. Overall, I have polished this unique piece of history to a mirror finish and while it does have its internal acid jar, lead cap, and steel carrier, it is EMPTY. None of the original ingredients are within the extinguisher.
