Clock without wood back piece measures approximately 7 1/4\"W x 3 5/8\"D. Wood back piece measures approximately 10\"W. The clock is primarily made of brass. The face appears to be metal with all of the black portions being recessed into the face. The lid is shiny whereas the body has an unpolished patina. The lid button sticks but still operates. Glass face cover has no cracks. One of the posts on the side is missing a screw. Metal has some dings and dents from use. The mechanism winds up and runs normally. Wood back has some wear. There is a black plastic piece that goes around the face on the inside. We do not know if this original or if it was added later. Clock comes with winding key. We cannot guarantee the continued functionality of the mechanical portions of this or any item we sell as per our company policy regardless of condition. Exact age is unknown. Please refer to the images above to judge the condition for yourself. Overall, this clock is in very good condition.

We have removed the wood back piece to reveal the serial number on the back of the clock. The number on the back is: \"601778\".

It dates from around 1955 and is a Model 14 E Zig Zag.
