I am offering this vintage bear out of my personal toy collection- purchased him approx 10 years ago in a Memphis, Tn estate sale. The gentleman was in his 90\'s, the house was full of really old things(he had lived there with his mother and sister). So- I know the bear is very old, but have never been able to identify him/her. The bear has such a sweet expression and looks more like a \'he\' to me, but was wearing this straw doll hat with a ribbon saying \'Marvella\'- so either a \'she\' or just has a thing for ladies hats, you decide! Either way, I love him, but have to scale down and find him a new home. He was well-loved and is not very clean and has many worn spots with missing fur. I used a lint brush prior to taking pictures, but he would benefit from being cleaned by someone who knows how to do so without damaging him. The bear is fully jointed (arms, legs, neck) and has a non-working \'growler\' in his back. He is approx 16\" from bottom of feet to top of his head- about 12\" sitting, (as he likes to do!) Both his eyes and nose are glass with long pins attached- which pull out easily. I am not totally clear on his \'stuffing\'- in places, lightly pressing on his fur sounds \'crunchy\'- indicative of excelsior / straw. However, his belly is soft and much quieter when pressing down- so not sure. The same is true of his fur- I am not sure as I am not a bear collector. I thought all bears of this vintage were mohair, but another member said that he looked more like wool plush. Please review pictures and ask any questions needed to make an informed purchase decision! He is a great old bear, so don\'t miss out!
