Vintage Coca-Cola Coke Electric Wall Clock with Light Wood Grain, electric movement,120 volt, 60 cycle AC USA electric current. Electric plug with standard United States prongs.Vintage “Enjoy Coca-Cola” Electric WALL CLOCK. Overall condition is; Fair. Tan color with imitation wood grain appearance. Clock was tested and functions properly when plugged into an electrical outlet. Plastic construction. I hear Gear noise and vibration in clock movement motor when plugged in as a result of heavy usage. Clock movement incased in black plastic housing attached to back of clock face, with cord coming out of bottom of movement. Clock still runs properly. Clock hands include red second hand along with white minutes hand and white hour hand. Red seconds hand rotates properly, one revolution each minute, red seconds hand is bent slightly and red paint is chipped off of the seconds hand. Minutes hand is white, the minutes hand is bent or bowed in two locations, hand is loose, and has some play at the shaft connection. The hour hand is white and is in good condition with no shaft play. Clock has a 6-1/2 Foot attached 2-prong Power Cord. Coke Logo has scratches on it. The ‘dynamic ribbon’ or as some refer to it as the ‘white swirl’ which we see on this clock logo, was used by Coca-Cola from 1969 to 1987 and is called the ‘Arden Square’. Some of the withe paint is missing from the relief stripes. Coke emblem is classic Coca-Cola trademark, red and white. I see several scratches on the plastic coke emblem/trademark. I see fading of the plastic, wood grain, paint, coke loge and clock hands as a result of age and ultraviolet (Sun) light. No significant wear or damage to the plastic housing. This clock is a vintage model. This Coke clock was probably used in a place of business that sold Coca-Cola products. It was hung on a wall and the customers were able to see the time of day along with the Coke Logo as advertising. The evolution of this Coca-Cola clock model follows the modernization of electrical standards. This clock has a non polarized plug. After the 1960’s polarized plugs were commonly used of electrical appliances. Later Coke Clocks utilized battery operated clock movements, consequently you would not see a cord on those clocks.
