Vintage Conservatory Antonius Stradiuarius Germany Violin With G & B Wooden Case:
Label inside says Copy Of Antonius Stradiuarius Made in Germany. Comes with G & B Original Improved Trade Mark wood case, one bow(unknown name). We do not know the age or history of these item's but would put them in the 1800's. For parts or repair. I think the violin is a 3/4, 22" long. Finger board is 10 1/4" long. The scroll and neck are in good shape and still attached very well to the upper body/bout. A few scratches and wear. Strings are broken. F holes are great. Sound post is loose inside. No bridge and no tail piece. The body is actually in good shape with no cracks. On back where neck is attached to body it is stamped Conservatory Violin. Horse hair needs to be replaced on bow. The case is wood with 3 brass hinges, to great brass latches with I hooks and and a skeleton lock(loose with no key). The case is a G & B Original Improved Trade Mark and has a musty old smell. The case is 31 1/2" long. The handle is good(brass). The hinges and closing clasp are all working fine. The case stripped down, sanded and stained or repainted would look very nice. Ask questions and see photo's. All sold as is for parts, repair or re purposing.
