Can you envision what would happen if this ever made it to a store shelf today?Now think back to the time it was on the store shelf and your mom and dad saw it.
Think Christmas time, (too spendy for a birthday present), and they thought of you and the great steep hill on the next block over from your house.
They\'re thinking how much ever-lasting fun you can have on this, without a thought in the world of any tragedy coming to their child. After all, they are accustomed to applying a Band-Aid to their kids when they were outside playing.
And, It has a front bumper, (I\'m pretty sure a kids smiling face and teeth will hit whatever first).
Now, I never had one of these, but we did have a steep hill and we did have a wagon, (A wagon has no brakes at all, unless you risked breaking your leg by hanging it off the side to drag on the pavement). OH, the sweet smell of your US KEDS sneakers smoking trying to stop before the intersection.
But not to worry, a wagon with someone in it is top heavy and a good turn right or left was sure to dump you skidding on down the rest of the road while you were in a tee shirt, shorts, and bare-footed.
Yea, I remember the good old days. We played OUTSIDE with our neighbors.
We played curb ball, base ball, hide and seek, tag, (a couple of fist fights now and again), ETC.
Respected others property when a ball got away from us.
Came in when called to dinner, Yea, we ate dinner at a table, all together at the same time, then asked to be excused when your plate was clean and everyone else was close to being done.
This was all done with the TV off and the big old phone was on a wall in the kitchen, hardly ever rang during dinner as most everyone else was either eating too, or knew not to call around someone\'s dinner time.
Man, I wish I had the ability to get down and lay on this racer and try it out right now.
But, alas, my wife said she\'s not going down to the bottom of the hill to help me off it and back up onto my feet.
That\'s not quite the way she put it, but you get the picture.
Okay, I\'m done, for now. Besides, I need to go pee ----again---.
