Up for offer is a very cool Gibson K-1 Mandocello. This is being relisted as it was sent back due to a front bow in the neck. This is slight and the mando does play as is but it would benefit from a heat press. The first picture with the mandolin is just for scale to show how big the mandocello is. This sale is for the Mandocello only. This dates from the mid teens to early 1920's. The label is intact but the serial number is completely faded out and unreadable. I am no expert on mandolins but this seems to play fine. There are no cracks on the top back or sides except a very small center seam separation on the lower back . The bottom back seam show to have been repaired form shrinkage as shown in a picture. The tuners and bridge have also been changed to more modern ones. The neck plays easily all the way up with no fretting out or buzzing but there is some front bow. The frets are in excellent condition. This comes with the case shown in the picture which is not the original but fits it well. There is wear on the back of the neck as you can see in the picture. This is a rare instrument with , the high buyer wins it. As this is close to 100 years old it will probably have it's share of problems so it is sold as a project as is with no returns. Winner to pay $45.00 dollars shipping in the lower 48 states. Good luck and thanks for looking..
