VINTAGE MEXICAN CERAMIC BOWL, Tlaquepaque Style, \'Donkey Blues\' circa 1930s:
$200.00

This beautiful bowl in the Tlaquepaque Style probably dates from the 1930s, and can easily be attributed to the artisan known as \'Donkey Blues\'. Like most of this work it\'s unsigned; on the bottom is stamped \"Mexico\". The design features a campesino following two cows between a tree and a patch of cactus, with a very pleasing scallop-and-drop pattern to the inner rim. There\'s slight wear to the rim, with a few very minuscule dings. The most noticeable of these actually occurred during manufacture and were glazed over. There\'s overall light crazing consistent with age, most apparent in small interior patches, with a scattering of glaze blisters. As can be seen, these minor flaws are quite inconspicuous and do not diminish its obvious appeal. It measures 9 3/8 inches across and about 4 3/4 inches high. Very nice!
Notes on shipping: Please be aware that Parcel Select and FedEx SmartPost are very slow, so if you opt for these economy rates I hope you won\'t ding me for slow delivery. Once the package is out of my hands I have no control over how long it will take to reach you. Parcel Select is slow enough, but FedEx SmartPost is actually Parcel Select too, just with the added delay of FedEx first delivering the item to a USPS facility, where it then begins its second journey. It\'ll get there eventually, just not soon.
