This AC50 has a beautiful sound with warm compression thatthe tube rectifier gives it. I just tested it and all functions work and it can get pretty loud. The original vinyl is indecent shape, but most of the rest of the external parts have been replaced for being damaged or missing. Thepower cord is a longer 3-pin replacement.Internally, the electrolytic capacitors are not original. One person told me that the power transformer was a replacement, but after looking at it myself, I cannot verify that. At leastsome of the tubes are replacements. The twopower tubes had the alignment pins broken off (I have no idea how or why), but they still work like champs so I did not replace them. A previous owner drilled a few extra holes in the back -my best guess was so that he could install a variety of different styles of jacks. That single jack on the right side is not wired in. The voltage selector top wasmissing and it is hard wired in the 115-volt position.

Recent history: This was saleed a few weeks ago and the buyer told me that it got smashed by the shipper and wouldn\'t even power on, and heabsolutely demanded $250.00 for repairs and an additional $150.00 for personal satisfaction because some of the parts were not original. He made it into a Paypal case and had to return it for a full refund. He left me some horrible response. When I got it back, it was no longer smashed and was working perfectly. So I am hoping to get this toa musicianwith an appreciation of vintage Vox amps.

The amp works fine now and sounds wonderful. But since it is half a century old I cannot guarantee it,so I\'mselling it as-is. However if there is any problem with it, contact me first. Another er just informed me that there are two versions of the AC50 with the tube rectifier, this one is the \'64 Mk II.
