This Vernon Mandolin/Banjo is in great condition for its age. There is some rusting on the metal, other than that the wood has no cracks or splits and the skin is taunt with no holes or splits. I purchased this instrument about 25 yrs ago in Arizona while on vacation. I had no idea what it was (neither did the seller) but liked it and thought it would look great on my wall for decoration. About 5 years ago I had new strings put on and decided to learn how to play it. That was short lived, I guess I\'m not committed enough to practice, so back on the wall it went. The only information I have is what was looked up on the net. Its from the early 1900 hundreds and made by the Vernon company, a cross between a Banjo and Mandolin. It looks like its been hardly used and believe all original parts are there. The string tightnrs look Bakelite, pearl dots on finger board. Chrome around top shows slight rusting as do the plates on top back, but nothing deep. Total measurements is 22\" L 7 1/2\" round part and 2 1/4\" H. Not sure if any other measurements are needed but can supply. If anyone can add any information I will post them.
